Anyone who has heard the term “starving artist,” knows that those in the art profession need every possible break they can get to increase the number of times their work is viewed, the possibility of it being purchased and the chance to improve their craft. Without artist resources that provide the opportunity to share work, network with other artists, the community cannot expand to the capacity that is available to them.

Worldwide exposure is very important factors to increasing awareness of individual artists and their works. Rather than being seen or having their work displayed in a gallery showing here and there, artists have the opportunity to showcase their work through online profiles available to anyone at any time. With artist resources they can sell paintings, photographs and other uniquely created items. Their names can be seen by anyone around the world and their popularity will increase. This is a big part of what artists have difficulty with when they begin working in their craft. Artist resources which are available to store portfolios and showcase items for sale help to promote artists with less effort than local promotion.

By using resources on the Internet, artists also open another world to themselves- the possibility of someone reviewing their work and offering a critique. More experienced artists or people who serve as teachers in the art world can offer advice, praise, suggestions and even individual instruction. For a new artist or an experienced one who may have used all available local artist resources instruction can help their work tremendously.

While worldwide recognition and display is beneficial, some artist resources can be found locally at colleges and universities. Being a featured artist during a college’s weekend of promoting the new art building can offer some local resources as well.

When an important showing or event takes place, look for it in the news. As an artist’s portfolio remains stored, there is the opportunity of consulting artist resources to see about any competitions or jobs that might bring some extra money or recognition for the artist. Financial assistance is also available through grants for artists and can be located through the use of message boards provided by artist resources.

There are resources available to artists virtually everywhere. They bring about the extra exposure that a budding artist needs to climb the ranks among those in their craft. Beyond exposure is advice and assistance to make their work better and more appealing to possible buyers. Some artist resources also include coaching services, some of which are offered at no charge. Coaching ranges from artistic craft to simply taking care of your artist self physically and mentally. This can become quite challenging for an artist and having this and every other resource available to you as an artist is a great way to help expand the artist community.
